Compensation Merit Matrix Functionality

Overview

Using Merit Matrix Functionality in Fuse will help your compensation managers with base compensation increases that match their performance with their current comp ratio. Performance Review Ratings can be used to suggest merit increases, even if reviews aren’t fully finalized.

For this functionality to work at the best level, you will need:

• Performance Reviews with Rating Values

• Merit Matrix Setup

• Pay Grades attached to Employees/Job Titles

Merit Matrix

1. Navigate to Team > HR Setup > Compensation Management > Compensation Setup

2. Click the Add New button on the top right.
3. Choose:
   1. Range of Values: to specify multiple segments, or
   2. Single Value: to allow for a signle value in each of the ratings rather than a range
   3. The number of desired segments (up to tem).
4. Click the Add Ratings button to select the Review Rating values applicable to this Matrix
5. After you have selected your ratings, the Matrix widget appears so that you can define the rating percentages

Pay Grades

1. Navigate to Settings > HR Setup > Pay Grades to view, edit, or add new pay grades

2. Pay Grades will need to be attached to employee records using imports, mass edit, or locked into Job Title or Postions

Compensation Cycle

1. Navigate to Settings > HR Setup > Compensation Management > Compensation Setup 
2. Click the pencil to edit the compensation cycle
3. In the Performance Review Settings Widget:
   1. Select the Merit Matrix
   2. Click Add Performance Review Profiles
   3. Select which Performance Review Profiles will feed ratings into this cycle.
   4. Performance Review Ratings can be used to suggest merit increases, even if reviews aren’t fully finalized.
4. If you would like recommended increases to be auto-populated, also enable the Single Value Matrix checkbox in the Pay Change Type widget.
